Ring Size Guide

At Joyce Wu, the rings are in Taiwan International sizes, but you can also provide us with your ring size in other standards such as US, UK or HK Size if you have one already—we will be gladly to make a ring in that size.

We recommend you visit a local jeweler for a professional ring size measurement. A jeweler will probably use a set of finger gauges, often called a ring sizer, which contains a series of metal bands in ½ size increments. If you want to measure it at home, you can use a ring you already have, or a piece of string or a strip of paper to measure your finger.

How to get the perfect fit?

Fingers are smaller in the early morning and when cold, so for best results, measure your finger size at the end of the day and when your fingers are warm. Your ring should fit your finger comfortably; snug enough so that it will not fall off, but loose enough to slide over your knuckle. If the ring falls between two sizes, order the larger size.

How do I find my ring size with a ring that I own?

Find a ring that fits the finger you are trying to size. Use the ruler to measure the diameter of the inside of the ring, then look up the measurement on the chart below to find the corresponding ring size (Inside Diagram).

How do I use NON-STRETCHY string or paper as a ring sizer?

  • Take a piece of non-stretchy string, ribbon, thread, or a thin strip of paper and wrap it snugly around the base of your finger. With a pen, carefully mark the point on the string or paper where it overlaps, forming a complete circle.
  • Lay it flat and use a ruler to measure the length in millimeters. This is the circumference of your finger.
  • Use the chart below to find the corresponding ring size (Inside Circumference).
  • Make sure your finger is at a normal body temperature – fingers can shrink or swell when cold or hot. If your knuckle is much larger than your finger’s base, take two separate measurements and choose a size in between. It is always a good idea to measure your finger size 3 to 4 times to eliminate an erroneous reading.
